Swatch proudly presents its latest unique innovation in the world of watches – BIOCERAMIC. Just a few months after the first bio-sourced Swatch launched in September 2020, here comes a new unique mix of ceramic and bio-sourced plastic – made by Swatch. This is the novelty that every watch lover will agree- definitely feels right.

Why is BIOCERAMIC so special? It contains two-thirds ceramic and one-third of bio-sourced plastic. This makes BIOCERAMIC both resilient and resistant with a silk-like touch. Swatch united the best of most frequently used materials in watchmaking. To showcase the brand’s newest material Swatch chose BIG BOLD Collection. This did not come as a surprise. This watches have the 47 mm diameter case. Their deep and architecturally structured design provides plenty of room to appreciate the pure and refined BIOCERAMIC characteristics to the fullest. There are five colors to choose from. The classic design statements black and white, the “color of the year” grey, optimistic sky-blue and new power-pink. BIG BOLD in BIOCERAMIC is a smooth, pure and substantial design piece, reduced to the max to allow the new material to be fully enjoyed thanks to the signature “see-through” Swatch attitude. The bracelet, glass and loops are made from bio-sourced plastic.

SWATCH – The Journey Continues

Swatch started a revolution in 1983 with the smart introduction of watches responsibly made out of 51 components only. All watch lovers know that the worth of the watch is determined by the number of components used. Generally, Swiss watches contain much more components and this introduction was definitely a milestone. Thirty-seven years later, the brand introduced bio-sourced plastic, which debuted in the BIORELOADED collection in September 2020. This was a successful step and another novelty was on its way. Today, BIOCERAMIC comes as the new addition to SWATCH NEXT, the latest release in a run of disruptive ideas.
